All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Robert Lee (Bob) Bailey, Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 27, 1981 Services for Robert Lee (Bob) Bailey, Jr. of Harlington, Texas, were held Monday at Hixson Funeral Home in Bunkie. Mr. Bailey died Saturday in Xxxxxx. Mr. Bailey was a prominent citizan in Louisiana, having owned with his family a chain of moving picture theaters throughout Louisiana. He also owned Delta Butane Co., which he operated in northeast Louisiana from its Tallulah office. He was very civic and community minded and held memberships in the Louisiana State University "L'' Club, Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Mississippi Flood Control Commission. He served as president for the Tallulah Country Club, Fifth Louisiana Levee Board and the La. Senior Golf Association. He directed the "Life begins at 40" Golf Tournament and the Harlingen Country Club. He was also a Junior Warden in the Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Cora Cheney Pearce Bailey of Harlingen; two sons, Marshall Pearce Bailey of Plano, Texas, and Robert L. Bailey III of Covington and three grandchildren, Marshall Bailey Jr. of Lake Providence, Charlotte Bailey of Tampa, Florida, and Scott Bailey, of Houston, Texas. The family requests no flowers.
