Bailey Rites Held On Monday Afternoon Funeral services for Byron Lee Bailey, 51, of Talla Bena Plantation north of Tallulah was held at 5:30 P. M. Monday at the Tallulah Methodist Church with the Rev. Wilson Watson officiating, assisted by the Rev. Deen Thompson. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. A native of River Falls, Wis., Mr. Bailey had resided in Madison Parish for the past 20 years. He was educated in the Rivers Falls schools and attended the University of Wisconsin; he was a member of the Methodist Church, veteran of World War II, and a Royal Arch Mason. Mr. Bailey was active in the youth's baseball program, volunteering his services every year in helping get the Little Boys baseball park in shape for use and was responsible for the permanent seats at the ball park. Mr. Bailey died unexpectedly at his home last Friday night. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Imogene Bailey, and three sons, Jay Bailey, Sid Bailey and Colin Bailey, all of Talla Bena Plantation; two brothers, Myron Bailey, Tallulah, and Scott Bailey, Faridault, Minn.: and two sisters, Mrs. Ester Amundson, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Robinson, Silver City, New Mexico. Pallbearers were H. N. Pippin, Charles Arneson, Manfred Gustafson, W. B. Adams, Warren Mills, George Linsey, V. E. Tyner and Walter Erickson.
