Averett - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 5, 1986 Mrs. Mary A. Averett, 79, died Sunday at a Tallulah Hospital after a short illness. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel in Tallulah with the Revs. Terry Tucker and Clyde Averett officiating. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe. She was a native of Monroe, a resident of Madison Parish for 51 years, a homemaker, and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four sons, Glynn Averett and Archie Averett Jr., both of Tallulah, Billy Averett and Mike Averett, both of Beaumont, Texas; seven daughters, Mrs. Myrtle McDaniel of Ruston, Mrs. Anne Wilson and Mrs. Mildred Porter, both of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Doris Pruitt of Delhi, Mrs. Wilma Whitaker of Tallulah, Mrs. Jimmie Couch of Dallas, and Mrs. Pat Crew of Lake Providence; one brother, Elmo Holloway of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Jessie Jordan of Monroe; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
