All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Andy Wyette Atkins - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 7, 1952 Mounds Resident, 81, Passes Away Andy Wyette Atkins, 81, resident of Mounds for the past 23 years, but a native of Carthage, Miss., passed away March 1st, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. N. E. Traxler. Funeral services were held at the Good Hope Baptist Church near Mounds Monday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Dermott Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery, Tallulah, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Rowan Freeman, Cecil Breedlove, Hilton Freeman, Willie Aaron, Jesse Edwards and Willie Breckeen. Mr. Atkins is survived by three daughters, Mrs. N. E. Traxler and Mrs. H. L. Goings, Mounds, and Mrs. Beatrice Fortenberry, Magee, Miss.; four sons, Nathaniel Atkins, Columbia, Miss.; A. J. Atkins, Sgt. U. S. Army, Fort Worth, Texas; Carey Atkins, Westby, Miss., and Andrew Atkins, Waynesboro, Miss. Besides there he had fifty-three grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
