C. Ashley Henry Claiborne Ashley, 44, died Thursday in a Vicksburg hospital following a brief illness. A native of Mississippi, he had lived in Madison Parish for 35 years. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 8 in the Chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Grover Smith officiating. Burial followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula Bell Ashley of Tallulah; four daughters, Mrs. Tommie Cleveland Jr. of Lake Charles; Terry Lynn, Kay and Christine Ashley, all of Tallulah; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Ashley of Tallulah; one brother, Buford Ashley of Meadville, Miss.: four sisters; Mrs. Bilbo Sullivan, Mrs. J. W. Ellis, Mrs. James Hetland and Mrs. Lloyd Rogan, all of Tallulah. Pallbearers were Joe Thornton, Horace Russell, .Jack Bowden, Jim Folk, Rufus Yerger, John Henry Nolan, Otis Floyd and A. L. Harvey.
