H. Allen Held Sunday Services for Dr. William Dean Hall Allen, local physician, were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 p. m. with the Rev. William F. Mayo officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Dr. Allen, 48, died Saturday afternoon in the Parker Hospital at Jackson after a lingering illness. Dr. Allen was a native of Tallulah, the son of the late D. H. Allen, one-time mayor and tax assessor. He attended Tallulah High School and was graduated from Tulane University of New Orleans, receiving his B.S. and M.D. degrees there. He interned at Oschner Clinic in New Orleans. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Association and the Tri Parish Medical Association. Dr. Allen leaves two daughters, Miss Carolyn Allen of New Orleans, and Miss Beverly Allen of Plaquemine; and a son William Allen of Baton Rouge. Pallbearers were Henry C. Sevier, Jr., R. W. Gandy, Rufus Yerger, Dr. George Webb, Don Sevier, Clift Adams, Maxwell Yerger and R. R. Spigener. Honorary pallbearers were W. H. Parsons and Dr. W. S. Purks, both of Vicksburg, Miss., H. C. Sevier, Sr, C. E. Hester, Major R. N. Ware and Paul Schwartz.
