Alexander - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post September 9, 1949 RITES SATURDAY AT TALLULAH FOR MRS. ALEXANDER Former Resident Died At Home Of Son In Wharton, Tex. TALLULAH, La., Sept. 9-Funeral services for Mrs. J. H. Alexander, former resident of Tallulah, who died at the home of her son in Wharton, Tex., will be held at the Tallulah Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 3:30, with the Rev. John F. Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery. The pallbearers will be A. L. Graves, Zach Chambliss, W. P. Sevier, William Powell, Jack Motley, Tom Bradley, Dr. G. M. Webb, and J. C. Bynum. The honorary pallbearers will be J. R. Linton, E. E. Williamson, W. H. Hughes, Will Harvey, Paul Gaines, G. W. Webb, and Lancaster Kell. Members of the Tallulah Eastern Star will attend the services in. a body. Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and a former member of the Madison parish school board. She was a Gold Star Mother of World War II. She is survived by three sons, Donald H. Alexander, of Wharton, Tex., Dr. Leonard Alexander of Wooster, Ohio, and Richard T. Alexander of Tallulah; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Grupe of Lynwood, Calif., and Miss Frances Alexander of Bastrop; two grandchildren and eight brothers and sisters.
