Adams, Judge, Sixth Judicial District Court in and for the Parishes of East Carroll, Madison and Tensas, was first elected, without opposition, by a special election called to fill the unexpired term of the late Frank Voelker, and took office October 1, 1963. Again in 1966, without opposition, he was re-elected. Judge Adams served as Alderman of the Village of Tallulah from March 1946 to October 1, 1948, when he resigned to accept appointment as Assistant District Attorney, which office was held until his elevation to the judgeship. He is a graduate of Tallulah High School, and Louisiana State University, and practiced law in Tallulah, Madison Parish, from 1936 to 1963. Judge Adams was born in Tallulah, Louisiana, December 12, 1911 the son of Adrian E. Adams and Caroline Montgomery Adams, both deceased. He is married to Elizabeth Holt Adams, a native of Madison Parish, the daughter of Neal Thurmond Holt and Edna Ward Holt, both deceased. Judge and Mrs. Adams have two sons: Clifford C. Adams, Jr. who is married to Kay Marionneaux Adams, and practices law in Tallulah; and William R. Adams, who is a pharmacist, residing in Aspen, Colorado. While attending LSU, he was a member of the following organizations: Delta Kappa Epsilon (social); PanHellenic Council; Samurai (interfraternity); Pi Sigma Alpha (honorary); Scabbard & Blade (military). Judge Adams is now a member of the Tallulah Methodist Church, Tallulah Rotary Club, and American Legion. War record: United States Army, active duty from March 1942 to January 1946; European theatre 18 months; separated with rank of Major. Hobbies: Golf, hunting, and fishing.
