Services We offer
Publishing Genealogical Data on the Web
We provide assistance to members of our society
in publishing their family history on the
web with varying of levels of assistance
being offered.
Research Assistance
Volunteers from our society meet on the 1st
Saturday of each month from 9:00-12:00 at
the Lafayette Public Library in order to
help patrons of the library with genealogical
needs. We will make a presentation on various
genealogical subjects to help individuals
with their research. These presentations
are made starting at 9:30 AM in the Meeting
Room. Following the presentation members
will be available to assist with questions
and advise. Click here for more.
In addition, our society provides minimal
research of Lafayette Public Library's
holdings
and area repositories. This service
is for
a small fee, payable to the Society.
Research Queries in The Acadian Area
The Lafayette Genealogical Society provides
minimal research of Lafayette Public
Library's
holdings and area repositories. In
addition
many of our members are researching
the Cajun
names of this area and could possible
help
you link your ancestors. Your brick
wall
may have already fallen. This service
is
free, but a contribution to the Society
would
be appreciated.
For assistance you can contact the
Lafayette
Public Library or any
Officer of the Society.
