November 21, 2013, the Lafayette Genealogical Society
was called to order by Vice President Calice Breaux. A moment of silence was requested for our military and our ancestors. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Warren LeBlanc, Treasurer, gave the treasurer’s report. The beginning and ending balance was $3,285.27. Eleven new members joined the club in 2013.
Visitors were: Gloria Darcy and Alice Breaux, of Houma, Louisiana.
Everett Thompson spoke about the use of the Windows Operating System’s Remote Assistance feature. The use of Remote Assistance could be a valuable tool to assist members in the operation of
their computers and use of genealogy programs.
Herb Scheuermann was nominated for President Elect and was unanimously elected.
Pat Snyder moved that Earl Gates be awarded a life time membership. Pete Lavergne
seconded the motion and the motion passed.
The meeting was adjourned.
