 17 October 2013 Meeting

On October 17, 2013, the Lafayette Genealogical Society was called to order by President Pat Snyder. A moment of silence was requested for our military and our ancestors. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The guess speaker for the tonight was announced.  Camilla Hunt Cole spoke on her book “Long Shadows”. Everyone enjoyed listening to her story.

It was time for the nomination of officers for the up-coming year. A partial list was announced since one of the nominees were not in attendance. The remainder will be announced at the November meeting.

Those announced were:

President-                 Brenda Thibodeaux
Vice President-         Calise Breaux
Secretary-                 Betty Hollier
Treasurer-                Warren LeBlanc

Since there was no oppositions, a motion was made to accept the slate of officers as presented. The motion was seconded and passed.

The LGS annual Christmas Banquet will be on December 11, 2013, at the Petroleum Club. Admission will be $20.00 if paid in advanced and $25.00 at the door.

The meeting was then closed.
