The July Meeting of the Lafayette Genealogical Society was held on July 17, 2014 in the Meeting Room of the South Regional Library, 1601 Johnston St., Lafayette, Louisiana at 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by President Brenda Thibodeaux. There was a moment of silence to remember our military; the Pledge of Allegiance followed.

President Brenda Thibodeaux introduced Sam Irvin, author of the book Louisiana Crawfish: A Succulent History of the Cajun Crustacean. He presented a light-hearted and interesting short film about researching and writing the book. Questions were answered and copies of his book were available.

There being no further business a motion was made to close the meeting; it was seconded and the meeting was closed.

Refreshments and socializing followed.
