ODOM, LAVADA TAYLOR Lavada Taylor Odom died at her home in Jackson on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at 1:15 p.m. She was 90 and a native of Iuka, MS in Tishomingo County. She was a retired cook with East Louisiana State Hospital in Jackson, with more than 10 years of service. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, on Tuesday, May 2, from 1 p.m. until service at 3 p.m. in Second Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson. She is survived by daughter, Betty Odom Metz and her husband, Jesse W. "Sonny" Metz, of Jackson; sister, Sue Powell of St. Francisville; brothers, Nelson Taylor of Tylertown, MS, James Taylor of Dallas, Wilton and Bobby Taylor, both of McComb, MS; and Billy Taylor of Ashland, OR; three grandchildren, Deanne H. Mills and husband Keith, Jesse W. "Willie" Metz, Jr., and wife Candace, and David D. Hill, all of Jackson; and brother, A. C. Taylor. Pallbearers include Willie Metz, David Hill, Keith Mills, Dwight Hill, Mark Anders and Matt Leggett. She was a member of Jackson First Baptist Church.
