ALLEN, RAYMOND C. "RAY" "The Lord is my Shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me: Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Mr. Allen died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 74 and a resident of Jackson. Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, on Friday, March 24, 2006 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Darwin Hall. Interment in Second Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Emiko Allen, four daughters, Marlen Faye Taylor of Baker, and Mary Peters and husband Eddie, Betty McKowen and husband Doug, and Dianna Miller, all of Jackson; son Raymond C Allen, Jr. and wife Treba Lemoine of Jackson; sister, Edna William of Jackson; brother, Clifton Allen and wife Dorothy of Wilson; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-greandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin D. Allen and Myrtis Hurse Allen; and brother, Marvin Allen, Jr. He retired from the U.S. Army with 23 years of service and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was Chief of Police in Jackson from 2000-2004. We love you and will miss you every day of our lives.
