This very unique paper-back book has a remarkable amount of info on its Northeast La. citizens. It includes the towns� public meetings, police jury proceedings, folks travels, obituaries, marriages, "gossip" columns, and lots of other miscellaneous information such as the owner�s plantations and landings, the Lake Providence steamboats schedules, the effects of flooding and weather conditions on the people and their crops, the towns� changing businesses, etc� More than 300 pages of research compiled from the old Carroll Parish newspapers.
These abstracts were taken from June 16, 1866 through March 4, 1876 newspapers, before Carroll was divided into East and West Carroll Parishes in 1877. What where your ancestors doing during the By-Gone-Days of the 1800�s?

Don't Overlook Mississippi
Concordia Parish is located directly across the Mississippi River from Adams and Wilkinson Counties, MS. A large number of residents and migrants to Concordia came to the parish by way of Adams County or the Natchez Territory. Many Adams County residents owned or worked on plantations (later the levee) in Concordia Parish, but lived in Natchez, Adams County. Therefore, it is always a good idea to also check the following sites for information on your ancestors:
