Wolfe County News - Feb. 2, 1955 Mr. and Mrs. Mort Nickell of Milan, Ind., rural, enjoyed celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary on Dec. 29th with a delicious dinner and festivities at the Dunbar and Bultman Dairy Bar in Osgood, Ind. The party included the celebrated couple, their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Davis and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Heil. Mr. and Mrs. Nickell were married in Wolfe County, Kentucky on December 29, 1904, by early lamp light in the home of the bride's parents. The bride was Miss Cora Wilson. The minister performing the ceremony was Rev. F.P. Wilson of Helechawa, who is now retired from the ministry at the age of 92. Mr. and Mrs. Nickell went to Indiana in November, 1919 and lived on their farm near St. Plus. Later they purchased their present home near Milan and have lived there for 25 years. They are members of the Milan Baptist Church. Mr. Nickell is 72 and Mrs. Nickell is 68. Their son, Arthur Nickell lives at Bethel, Ohio. They have one granddaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Adams and two great grand daughters, Cynthia and Barbara Jean Adams, who live in Chilo, Ohio. Their many friends and neighbors wish them many more years of happiness together.
