Mrs. Nannie Kash and Willie Kash registered at the Combs house Sunday. Born to the wife of Alexander Spencer, of this place, on the 21st ult., a girl. We get this news item from Dr. H. H. Stamper. Married on Christmas day, at the residence of the brides' father, James Reynolds to Miss Rose Stamper. Rev. J. L. West performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Dr. J. H. Stamper of this place and is a young lady who possess all the characteristics of true womanhood. The groom is a son of Wm. Reynolds, deceased, and a grandson of the late Ira Drake, one of our most respected citizens. He is a teacher of considerable ability and a young man of high standing in the community. From Lee Co.: James Booth, who lived on Devil's creek, died last week after a long illness. Nick Combs, from Perry County has been visiting relatives and friends on Walker's creek. A house belonging to the railroad company at this place was set on fire Christmas night by some unknown party. George Stamper now wears an unusual bright smile, but it is not surprising as his wife presented him with a fine boy for a Christmas gift.
