OBITUARY: Rose Sr., Berl D. - Monday, September 19, 2011 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* ROSE Sr., Berl D. age 88 of Eaton, OH joined his Heavenly Father on September 19, 2011. He was born on August 26, 1923 in Wolfe County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Granville and Ninnie (Brewer) Rose, brother TC Rose; sister Eloise Richards and two younger siblings. He was also preceded in death by his wife and soul mate of 36 years, Freida M. (Campbell) Rose who passed away on November 1, 1983 and sister-in-law Mima (Campbell) Weber. He is survived by three daughters: Ruthie Rose of St. Petersburg FL, Brenda (Cornelius) Gable of West Carrollton, OH and Debbie (Johnny) Webre of McLean, VA; seven sons: David (Barb) Rose of West Alexandria,OH, Mike (Xuan-Anh) Rose of San Diego, CA, Rev. Darrell (Carolyn) Rose of Middletown, OH, James (Mary) Rose of Franklin, OH, Stephen (Dana) Rose of Eaton, OH, Jeffrey Rose of Fairfield, OH and Kevin Rose of Fairfield Twp., OH; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; brother Mark Rose; sister Geraldine Huffman; and many other family and friends. He was a very devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a WWII Army Veteran; he retired from the Franklin School system as a math teacher; and was a very active member of Gideons for many years. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton and their many volunteers for such dedicated care of our precious father. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Road, Middletown, OH 45042 with Pastor Ray Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Butler Memorial Park, Trenton, OH with military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
