OBITUARY: Duff, Opal ÒPennyÓ (VanCleve) - Sunday, July 17, 2011 Published in The Middletown Journal from July 18 to July 19, 2011 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* DUFF, Opal "Penny" age 83, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Garden Manor Retirement Village. She was born September 10, 1927 in Wolfe County, KY to Matthew and Goldie (Tester) VanCleve. She was an apartment manager for Mid America Properties for 22 years, retiring in 1990. Opal was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she was involved in the Jolly 60's Club. She loved to travel, sew and crochet. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold "Red" Duff on January 13, 2001; sons, William H. Duff and Arthur Lee Spicer and grandson, Eric Ryan. Opal is survived by daughter, Karen (Tom) Ryan of Middletown; daughter-in-laws, Susan Spicer of Trenton and Pauline Duff of New Richmond, OH; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Joe French officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
