OBITUARY: Combs, Charles O. - Monday, May 30, 2011 Submitted by: Carter Combs ********************************************************************* Charles O. Combs, 82, Sabina died on Monday, May 30, 2011 at his residence. Charlie was born on June 30, 1928 in Mt. Washington, Ohio the son of the late Charles S. and Hazel Mette Combs. He graduated from Sabina High School in 1946 and later served in the Army 3rd Armor Division. On June 23, 1951, he married Esther Yarger Combs. He retired as a machinist from Dayton Progress in West Carrollton. He was also a longtime representative to Butler Springs Christian Assembly, longtime member and elder of the Sabina Church of Christ, member of the Community Christian Men's Group, the Clinton County Country Squares Dance Club and the Sabina Senior Citizens. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan (Chris) Thompson of Sabina, Jim (Julie) Combs of Sabina, Michael (Cathy) Combs of Waynesville and Brian (Hope) Combs of Waynesville; grandchildren, Jill, Matthew and Jenna Thompson, Chelsea, Christie and Charity Combs, Heath (Lindsay), Anthony and Adam Keaton, and Erin and Bradley Clifton; great grandchildren, Gavin, Brooklyn and Mitchell Keaton; and his brother, Eugene (Marilyn) Combs of Waynesville. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Carmen Combs. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at the Sabina Church of Christ with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM at the church.
