OBITUARY: Cockerham, Earl - Saturday, April 23, 2011 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* COCKERHAM, Earl age 87, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1923 at Campton, Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II, and was employed as a crane operator in East Processing at Armco Steel, retiring in 1972 after 23 years of service. He was a member of the University Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Ida (Hollon) Cockerham; his wife Martha Cockerham in 2006; son, Robert "Bobby" Cockerham; daughter-in-law, Wanda Cockerham; grandson, Earl Ray Cockerham; two brothers, Arthur "A. C." and James; and three sisters, Edna, Maggie and Gladys. He is survived by one son, Rick Cockerham and wife Diane; five grandchildren, Tammy Morrison and husband Jim, Bobbie Jo Henry and husband Paul, Tracy Danner and husband Billy, Chad Cockerham, and Casey Cockerham and wife Karen; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Lou Tyree, Gertrude Trimble, Opal Kessier and Faye Pence; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dale Norris officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park , Trenton, Ohio, with military services by Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
