OBITUARY: Oldfield, Inez (Brooks) - February 2011 Published in the Middletown Journal on February 22, 2011 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* OLDFIELD, Inez Brooks born June 1, 1917, on Upper Gillmore Rd., in Wolfe County, KY. She was the daughter of Charles and Esther Ely Brooks. She lost her mother when she was 11 years old. She spent the rest of her childhood helping to raise her younger sisters. She spent her early adult life in Hazel Green, KY, where she attended the Hazel Green Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Hazel Green Academy H.S. She attended Frezguizi Business College in Lexington, KY. She did secretarial work before her marriage and was a wife and mother the rest of her life. Which she spent in Middletown, OH. She loved to garden, make patchwork quilts and cook dinner for her big family on Sunday. She liked going to the mall and walking, where she made lots of wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Vernon Oldfield, her parents, four sisters, Opal Allen, Gayle Rogers, Lorene Brooks and Edith Dooley. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Oldfield of Monroe, OH and Jim Oldfield of Franklin, OH, four daughters, Sharon (Doug) Miller of Franklin, Lenora Marshall, Neda (Jim) Gomia and Andrea Lawson all of Middletown, four grandsons, Jon Marshall, Ryan Lawson, Dustin (Tara) Lawson, Sammy (Rachel) Lawson, seven granddaughters, Michelle (Joel) Lockridge, Lisa (Steve) Collier, Cindy (John) Creekmore, Jenny (Jeff) Becraft, Jody (Danny) Sibert, Debbie (Brad) Fillnow and Jackie(Michael) Gleason, 13 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Taylor, Katie, Logan, Jordon, Justin, Ethan, Nolan, Dillon, Mary, Collin and Audrey. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens- Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery.
