OBITUARY: Adams, Robert R. "Bob" Adams, 92, of Wilmore, KY and formerly of Zachariah, KY, beloved widower of the late Freeda A. Whisman Adams, departed this life Mon, Feb 7, 2011 at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center at Wilmore, KY. He was a son of the late David and Sudie Rogers Adams, born at Zachariah, KY on Feb 3, 1919. He was employed by Wiser Oil Company working in the oil fields for 36 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during W.W.II serving on the USS Essex aircraft carrier. He was a member of the Rogers Baptist Church and he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by two daughters, Betty Louise Stewart and husband, Johnnie, of Louisville, KY and Doodle Ann Johnson and husband, Jim, of Danville, KY; three grandchildren, Jami Springer and husband, Tom, Mandy Blandford and husband, Matt, and Josh Johnson and wife, Sarah; four great grandchildren, Alex Springer, Hannah Springer, Reagan Blandford and Lilly Blandford; and one brother, Lawrence Adams of Bowling Green, KY. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Clyde, Roy, Troy, Vinard, Dulith and Clayton Adams, and two sisters, Nellie Hobbs and Billie Biggs. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11am Sat, Feb 12, 2011 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Barry Radeabaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Adams Cemetery at Zachariah, KY. Visitation will be Fri, Feb 11, 2011 after 6pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Gary Cable, Edwin Cable, Bill Bryant, Matt Blandford, Tom Springer, Josh Johnson and Alex Springer. Honorary pallbearers will be all his friends.
