OBITUARY: Johnstone, Ronald W. - Monday, October 25, 2010 Submitted by: Carter Combs ********************************************************************* Ronald W. Johnstone, 69 of Winchester, widower of Wanda Lucille Johnstone passed away on Mon., Oct. 25, 2010 from a long and bravely fought illness. Mr. Johnstone was born in Winchester, KY on July 31, 1941 to the late George and June McNabb Johnstone. He recently retired as the 35 year owner/operator of the Shoppers Market on Lexington Road. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of 9 years serving in Vietnam, a Master Mason with the Robert M. Sirkle Masonic Lodge #954 and the Winchester Masonic Lodge #20, and he was a shriner. He is survived by 2 sons, John Johnstone of Winchester and Ed Hatton (Julie) of Lexington; 3 daughters, Gay Edge (Jeff Taylor) of Winchester, Teresa Curtis of Winchester, and Mary Elizabeth Johnstone of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Tara Nicole Curtis of Lancaster, Christopher Edge (Kristen) of Louisville, Thomas Warner of Winchester, and Logan Hatton of Lexington; 3 great grandchildren, Maddison Edge of Winchester, Trevor Warner of Lexington, Olivia Casey of Louisville; and 2 brothers, Richard Johnstone (Delores) of Hampton, SC and Ralph Johnstone (Jenny) of Winchester. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Clayton Edge and a sister, Sharon Potter. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Fri., Oct. 29 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Lee Cruse. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Edge, Thomas Warner, John Johnstone, Ed Hatton, Jeff Taylor and Ted Land. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 28 at Scobee Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Dr., Winchester, KY 40391.
