OBITUARY: Pelfrey, William Earl - Friday, July 2, 2010 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* PELFREY, William Earl age 67 of Centerville, OH passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 2, 2010. Bill was born in Dayton, OH on April 16, 1943 to the late Earl and Mary Kathleen Pelfrey. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mari (Furderer) Pelfrey; his beloved aunt, Mary Agee; brothers, Ralph Eugene (Gene) Pelfrey of West Carrollton, OH, Eric Stanley (Stan) Pelfrey of Romeo, MI; children, Douglas, Michael and Amie Pelfrey, Robert and Abigail Beeson; four grandchildren; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Carol and Robert Furderer; and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends. Bill was president of his class at Patterson Co-op High School, in which he graduated in 1961 and attended the University of Dayton and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served as President of, and co-founded, Buckeye Electric and Matrix Systems in Dayton, OH. He was formerly employed by CEF Industries, during which time he and Mari lived in Illinois and then Florida. In 1999, Bill and Mari moved back to Centerville to be closer to their family, and he began working for Globe Motors. He retired from Globe in October, 2009. He was also a Charter member of Vandalia Lodge 777 F&AM. Bill was extremely devoted to his professional career, and was widely known for his keen insight and his ability to hone in on creative business solutions. He traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe during his career. Bill will be remembered as a loving, generous, dedicated husband, father and friend. He was always willing to help others, and to share his many talents in those endeavors. Bill and Mari had recently begun attending local car shows, and he especially enjoyed reconnecting there with old college friends. Bill was an avid car racing and sports enthusiast, and he loved tinkering in his garage, creating useful gadgets. He also enjoyed putting his special spin on many recipes, as he cooked for his extended family. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the funeral home.
