OBITUARY: Cross, Henry L. - Thursday, June 24, 2010 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* Henry L. Cross, 75, of Troy, passed away at 1:39 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Kettering Memorial Hospital, Kettering. He was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Benton, Tenn., to the late Fate and Geneva Irene (Mull) Cross. His wife of 47 years, Ruth A. (Graham) Cross, survives. Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel R. and Teresa Cross of Troy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Charles Booker of Tipp City and Rebecca and Lance David Neuhard of New Carlisle; seven brothers, Bill, Charlie, Sam, Birch, John, Roy and David; one sister, Betty; five grandchildren: Amy Weigel, Beth Booker, Shawn Henry Cross, Nichole Neuhard Gomez and Anthony Neuhard; and six great-grandchildren, Carilla, Kelsey, Jonathan, Brooke, Brittnie and Simon. He also will be missed by the extended Graham family. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his first wife, Venus Opal (Monroe) Cross; one brother, Jack and one sister, Viola. He was a member of the Troy Fish & Game Club, North Dayton Anglers and the National Rifle Association. He retired as manufacturing supervisor from Emerson in Sidney and had previously worked for Link Corp. in Tipp City. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Family also will receive friends immediately following the service at his residence.
