Married Thomas Lincoln. And to this union, Abraham Lincoln,

along with Nathaniel Wolfe was instrumental in the formation of

Wolfe County Courthouse and Jail, and his son, Christopher

Columbus Hanks, gave land for the first High School. He was in

the 5th Ky. INF CSA in 1861 while Lincoln was president. Family

grave markers are nearby.

It is family history that young Abe spent time with relatives in

this area. Fielding Hanks great-granddaughter remembered her grandfather, Cuthbert Million Hanks, who was four years older than

Abe, telling about cousin Abe visiting here and the Hanks Family

visiting the Lincolns in Hodgenville, Kentucky
