The Rev. Ben F. HEAD, 51, died in an Evansville hospital at 7 p.m. Monday following a long illness. He had been a hospital patient for
a week, and on Saturday underwent amputation of a limb. He operated a grocery store on Baptist Hill. Survivors are the wife, Mary; three
daughters, Mrs. James MONROE, and Miss Fay Head, Providence, and Mrs. Robert GALBERT, Detroit Mich.; three sons,
Charles of Detroit, Eugene and Curtis Head of Providence; two brothers, Harvey and Volney Head of Providence; and two
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the General Baptist church, with the Rev. Charlie HOWARD of

John Lee HEAD, 82, Dixon rural route, died at 8 o'clock this morning in his home. Survivors are the wife, Jane; two sons, Ben Head of Anderson, Ind., and Frank Head, Dixon rural route; two daughters, Mrs. John HERRON, Morganfield, and Mrs. Marshal RICH, Clay; and five grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Lela HEAD died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday at her home on West Main street after being ill for several months. Surviving are the husband, H.N. Head; a son, Carroll Head, Providence; four daughters, Mrs. Burley LANE of Lincoln Park, Mich., Mrs. Atrice DAVIS of Dearborn, Mich., Mrs. Eugene HARRIS and Miss Jean Head of Providence; two brothers, Henry TODD of Providence and Finis Todd of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Lenora LYNN of Providence and Mrs. Noah RICH of Clay; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gum Grove church, with the Rev. Oscar DUNCAN of Manitou officiating. Burial was in Lisman cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Ann HEAD, 73, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday in her home on Providence rural route. Mrs. Head, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.M. MONROE, was born in Webster county and was a member of Hopewell Baptist church. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Flora BROWN, Mrs. Annie BLACKWELL, Mrs. Effie EDDINGS, and Mrs. Minnie NEWCOMB, of Providence; four sons, Tom, or Detroit, Mich., Clarence, Frank and Joe, of Providence; 32 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harve MONROE, Providence. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in White Oak church, with the Rev. Carrol YARBROUGH officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ed OAKLEY.

Raymond HEAD, 37, former Providence resident, died early Tuesday morning in his home in Warren, Ariz. He had been ill recently but had recovered and had returned to work, so that death was unexpected. He was an employee of the Boston Store here for a number of years. The body is being returned to Providence and is expected to arrive late today or Friday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but services will be held Sunday. Survivors are the wife, the former Miss Katherine TOWNSEND; parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Head, Providence; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence RINEHAMMER and Mrs. Willard WEDGE, Hammond, Ind.; and a brother, Arie Head, Providence.

Charlie Vince HEADY, 72, was found dead Saturday in a lot near his
home between Wheatcroft and Blackford. He had been missing since
Friday. It is thought that he suffered a stroke, which caused his
death, and his body was mutilated by hogs in the lot. Mr. Heady was
born June 22, 1870, and was married to Lula Price WALLACE on Nov. 3,
1897. They had nine children, five of whom survive. He professed
faith in Christ during a revival at Black Grove church several years
ago. Survivors are the wife; two sons, George and Charlie Heady of
Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Gilbert GREER of Detroit, Mrs.
Roscoe UNDERWOOD of Madisonville, and Mrs. Carl STEEL of Wheatcroft;
four grandchildren; two brothers, John Heady of Blackford, and Buck
Heady of Morganfield; and a half-brother, Bill Heady, of Blackford.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the home, with the
Rev. Bob WALLACE officiating. Pallbearers were Rube NORTHCUTT,
Charlie BROWN, Delbert HINTON, Fred CAPPS, Jess Heady, and Blue
BRANTLEY. Flower bearers were Mrs. Thelma OMER, Mrs. Verna Brown,
Mrs. Carrie Northcutt, Martha Omer, Lula Capps, Ruby CATON, Madelene
PHELPS, Gertie Brown, Nina VARVEL, Eva Dean SOUTHERLAND, Mary D.
Brantley, and Mary STEWART. Burial was in Black Grove cemetery.

Funeral services for Ira Lee HEADY, 70, of Blackford, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Church in Blackford. The Rev. Herbert LEWIS officiated and burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, near Blackford. Mr. Heady died Wednesday night in Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville. Survivors are two sons, O.H. Heady of Earlington, and Herschel Heady of Blackford.

Mrs. Acquilla M. HEARIN, 80, wife of E.C. Hearin, died at 6 p.m. Friday in her home on Princeton street following an illness of
three years. Pneumonia was the immediate cause of her death. A daughter of Philip and Miranda Wyatt SIGLER, Mrs. Hearin
was born July 14, 1865 near Dixon. At the age of thirteen Mrs. Hearin joined the Methodist church at Chalybeate which her
father was instrumental in establishing. She remained devoted to her church and faithful in attendance until ill health which
followed an operation several years ago prevented continuance of her usual activities. Mr. and Mrs. Hearin were married on
June 11, 1885, and moved to Providence in 1901. They were parents of ten children, two of whom, a boy and a girl, died in
infancy. Survivors are the husband, E.C. Hearin; six daughters, Mrs. W.E. WILSON of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. J.H. PARRISH
of Madisonville, Mrs. J.C. BASSETT of Earlington, Mrs. J.E. PALMER of Providence, Mrs. J.C. MARTIN of Depo, Ill., and Mrs.
R.O. UTTERBACK of Evansville; two sons, L.H. and N.R. Hearin of Providence; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and
a brother, John Sigler, Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services were held at the home at 4 p.m. Sunday, with a son-in-law, the Rev.
J.C. Martin of Dupo, Ill., officiating, assisted by the Rev. T.G. HACKNEY, pastor of the Methodist church. Pallbearers were
W.A. VAUGHN, Claud RICH, Frank WHITE, Lawrence BASSETT, Monroe HIBBS, and J.R. POWELL. Burial was in Lakeview

Mrs. Albina CAMPBELL HEARIN, 70, widow of the late C.E. Hearin, retired banker, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at her home in Clay following an illness of approximately 16 years. Mrs. Hearin, a daughter of the late Sam and Pina Campbell of Dixon, was a member of Clay First Baptist Church and was for many years the church pianist. Mrs. Hearin and her husband moved to Clay in April 1907 and organized the Farmers National Bank. She served as assistant cashier until a few years ago when her health prevented. Mrs. Hearin had held numerous offices in the National and State Bankers Associations and made a tour of Europe in the early 1920's. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. C.B. MOORMAN of Dixon; a brother Dr. George Campbell of Flora, Ill.; and a foster sister, Mrs. C.A. WHITTAKER of Bardstown. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the home on West Elm street in Clay with Dr. C.O. SIMPSON officiating, assisted by the Rev. G.R. ABERNATHY. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Cordis E. HEARIN, 75, retired Clay banker, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville following a long illness. He had been a patient in the hospital for some time. Mr. Hearin was born in Webster county, taught in the county schools, and before locating in Clay he lived in Dixon and in Sebree. He and Mrs. Hearin moved to Clay in 1907 and organized Farmers National Bank. He served as cashier and later as president. He also operated an insurance business. Mr. Hearin retired from business in 1945. He was a member of Clay First Baptist Church and for many years was choir director and had served as Sunday School superintendent. Surviving are the wife, Albina CAMPBELL Hearin; three brothers, Lloyd Hearin of Clay, Tom Hearin of Henderson, and Norman Hearin of Kansas City, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Steve FREER, near Clay; a half-brother, Landon Hearin, near Clay; and a half-sister, Mrs. Frank RAGSDALE of Evansville. The body was brought Wednesday to Franklin and Edwards Funeral Home. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, March 25, 1954. Ellis C. HEARIN, 96, of Providence, lifelong resident of Webster County, died at 5 p.m. Monday at Cardwell Hospital after a long
illness. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and was a retired farmer. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. W. E. WILSON and
Mrs. Joe PARRISH of Louisville, Mrs. J.C. BASSETT of Earlington, Mrs. J.E. PALMER of Providence, and Mrs. R. O. UTTERBACK of
Evansville; two sons, L.H. Hearin of Providence and N.R. Hearin of Madisonville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Melton Funeral Home, with the Rev. C.W. DUNCAN
officiating, assisted by the Rev. John C. BASSETT. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, September 21, 1961.
Wesley HEARON, 83, known as "Uncle Wes", died Tuesday at 4 a.m. in his
home in Wheatcroft. Survivors are the wife, Florida, who is ill with
pneumonia; seven children by a former marriage, Gregg and Roy Hearon,
and Mrs. C.C. WELLS, of Wheatcroft, Mrs. Lena DODGE, Mrs. Ethel CURRY,
and Mrs. Mazie VANOVER, of Evansville, and Mrs. Effie TRAVIS,
Blackford; three children by his last marriage, Mrs. Inez WRIGHT and
Mrs. Geraldine LOVAN of Evansville, and Otis Hearon, in an Army camp
in California; two brothers, Wash Hearon of Henderson and Bob Hearon
of Clay; a sister, Mrs. Forrest WATSON of Dixon; a half-brother, Harve
Watson of Cave-in-Rock, Ill.; sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in
Black Grove church, with the pastor, the Rev. Bob WALLACE,
officiating. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, and honorary
pallbearers will be Bill BLACK, Charlie BROWN, George BEABOUT, and
Delbert HINTON. Granddaughters will be flower girls. Burial will be

Robert C. HEATH, 67, of Clay, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday in a veterans hospital in Louisville following a long illness. He was a veteran of World War I and was a retired farmer. The body was brought to Franklin and Edwards Funeral Home in Clay Friday night. Surviving are two brothers, William R. Heath of Sikeston, Mo., and John Heath of Evansville; three sisters, Mrs. Mina WILLIAMS of Clay, Mrs. Alma DORRIS of Providence, and Mrs. Edna RICHARDSON of Detroit; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Franklin and Edwards Funeral Home, with Elder Gordon T. HEARON officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery in Crittenden county. Mrs. Mary Belle HEERDINK, 69, died at 3 a.m. Monday in her home in Henderson. Survivors are the husband, Louis; a daughter, Mrs. Dorsey WATSON, Dixon; two grandchildren, Kenneth and Cle Elmer Watson; three brothers, William, Hank, and George GRADY, of Owensboro. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson with the Rev. Paul S. POWELL officiating. Burial was in Fairmont Cemetery, Henderson. William Edward HEFFORD, 31, of Princeton, formerly of Blackford, was killed instantly at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 69 near Sullivan when the automobile he was driving left the highway and overturned several times. A companion, Denver WOODALL, Princeton, who suffered cuts and bruises, said the driver apparently was blinded by lights of an approaching car. Surviving are the widow, Audrey; and step-father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Lee MORGAN, of Princeton. Calbert Morgan of Blackford is an uncle, and Miss Ida Morgan of Princeton and Mrs. Maud Hefford of Eldorado, Ill., are aunts. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Joe CALLENDER of Memphis, Tenn., officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill cemetery, Princeton.

Mrs. Floy HEITMEYER, 76, of Loveland, Colo., died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John RAMSEY, in Dixon following a long illness. She was brought to her daughter's home some time ago. She was the wife of the Rev. Daniel Heitmeyer, retired pastor of First Baptist Church in Loveland. He is also in Dixon with Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey. Surviving besides the husband and daughter are three brothers, John, Will and Tom HARDMAN of Lenora, Kansas, and one grandson, Johnnie Ramsey. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. G.R. ABERNATHY of Clay and the Rev. J.R. RANDOLPH of Dixon, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon.

Mrs. Stella HELDERMAN, sister of Mrs. Rosamond McGAW of Providence, died Monday night in Evansville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Johann Funeral Home in Evansville, with burial there.

Funeral services for John HELDMAN, 65, of Slaughters, who died in the Madisonville hospital Saturday night, were held in the Slaughters Methodist church at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. L.F. PIERCEY and the Rev. J.E. HARTFORD officiated. Burial was in Slaughters cemetery. Mr. Heldman had been bedfast since he fell last May and broke his hip, but he seemed to be on the road to recovery when he became suddenly ill last week. He is survived by an aunt, Mrs. May FINSKE of Slaughters, and two uncles, John KORB, Slaughters, and Fred Korb, Madisonville.

Friends here have been informed of the death on Nov. 1 of Herbert HELLER, of Montebello, Calif., husband of the former Miss Bernie MARLIN, formerly of Providence. Mr. Heller suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and had been a hospital patient for three months. Funeral and burial were in Montebello.

died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday,June 25, at her home in Clay following an illness of four years. She was a member of Ashland Cumberland Presbyterian church. Survivors are the husband; a daughter, Donna Lou; a son, Richard Allen; mother, Mrs. Grace Coleman; two sisters, Mrs. Robert HEARIN and Miss Shirley Coleman, all of Clay; a brother, George Coleman, jr., of Gary, Ind.; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Z.T. WILLIAMSON of Princeton. Funeral services were held Friday, June 27, at Clay First Baptist church, with the Rev. R.T. MITCHELL of Paducah and the Rev. Alfred BENNETT of Salem officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Funeral services for James W. HENSON, 87, former Webster county judge and circuit judge, who died at 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday at his home in Henderson, were held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in First Methodist church in Henderson. The Rev. D.M. SPEARS officiated and burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon. Judge Henson served two years of a term as county judge, then was elected to the office of circuit judge. He served two six-year terms in this capacity. Until a few years ago he practed law in Henderson. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Erphine LYNCH, Henderson; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lummie BROOKS, Dixon.

Mrs. Sadie WORMER HENSON, 81, former Dixon resident and wife of former Circuit Judge J.W. Henson, died Tuesday night at her home in Henderson. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Episcopal church in Henderson, with the Rev. Arch C. HOPPER officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon.

Strother Creed HENSON, 61, former Dixon resident and former Webster circuit court clerk, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange following a two-day illness. Survivors are the wife; one son, William, of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Leon ROBINSON, St. Louis; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Henson, of Henderson; two sisters, Mrs. Lady Roe RICE, Henderson, and Mrs. Mary Ruth TAPP, Cleveland, Ohio; and a brother, Earl, of Henderson; two half-brothers, Jess, of Hopkinsville, and Durwood, of Capps, Ark.; and a half-sister, Mrs. Maud WILSON, Capps, Ark. Mr. Henson had been an employee of the Greendale Reformatory and at the time of his death was serving an appointment made by Gov. Earle CLEMENTS as head of inspections at the LaGrange Reformatory. The body is at Moss Funeral Home in Henderson. Funeral services will be held in Henderson at 2 p.m. today.

Miss Jerussie Nevelyn HERRIN, 47, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at her home in Providence. She had been an invalid for several years. She was a member of Diamond Baptist Church. Surviving are the father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Herrin, and a sister, Mrs. Walter DORRIS, Providence. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at White Oak Church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK of Dixon officiating. Burial was in White Oak cemetery.

of her son, Homer MYERS, in Providence. Survivors besides the son are

one sister, Mrs. Mae BELT, Marion route 1. Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rushing cemetery in Crittenden county,
with the Rev. Reed WOODALL of Princeton officiating, followed by

Ed HERRON, 80, former Webster county resident and retired farmer, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.M. VAUGHN, in Evansville. Surviving besides the daughter are the wife, Fannie; a brother, Enoch Herron, Providence; two sisters, Mrs. Trav GARDNER and Mrs. Lottie WATSON of Providence; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, at White Oak church, with the Rev. Dora RICH of Winslow, Ind., officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. G.E. HERRON, 53, formerly of Clay, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday at her home, 1421 S. E. Riverside Drive, Evansville, following a long illness. She was the former Miss Earl Lee LIVELY. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Evansville. Surviving are the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Joe RATLIFF of Madisonville, Mrs. William TURNAGE of Liberty, Mo., and Miss Hester Herron, Evansville; a granddaughter, Millicent Ratliff, Madisonville; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry MITCHELL and Mrs. Lee FLETCHER, Clay, and Mrs. Charles CURRY, Henderson. The body is at Boone Funeral Home in Evansville, where funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock this morning, with the Rev. Albert CULLEN officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay, with a short graveside service. The family has requested that contributions be made to the Cancer Society instead of sending flowers.

J.W. HERRON, 80, a retired carpenter, died at 7 a.m. Friday at his home in Providence. Survivors are the wife, Dora; a daughter, Mrs. W.D. OAKLEY, Central City; two step-daughters, Mrs. Shirley CARPENTER, Marion, Ill., and Mrs. Ponso SENDROLS, Detroit, Mich.; four step-sons, Benny and Eli SISK of Dawson Springs, James Oakley of Marion, Ill., and Carl Oakley of Evansville; and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Valley Church, with the Rev. Carl HARKINS officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Mary Liddie HERRON, 78, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at her home on Rosemont avenue in Providence. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are the husband, J.W. Herron; a daughter, Mrs. Florence RAMAGE, of Kissimmee, Fla.; three sons, J.I. RANDOLPH, of Carthage, Ill., W.V. Randolph, of Danville, Ia., and C.R. Randolph, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. James VAUGHN, Providence; three brothers, Lonnie FRYAR, of Marion, Tom Fryar, of Providence, and Johnnie Fryar, of Elkhart, Ind.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home, with the Rev. S.R. GILLIAM officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery near Blackford.

A son, Steven, was born Sunday at 10 a.m. to Mr. and Mrs. Leo HERRON at their home in Clay and was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Morganfield, where he died at 10 a.m. Monday. Surviving besides the parents are a sister, Trudie; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Herron of Clay and Mrs. Marie KASMANN of Nuernberg, Germany, who is in Clay. A short funeral service was held Tuesday morning at the grave in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay, with the Rev. J.C. BASSETT, pastor of Clay Methodist Church, officiating. Private funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Nealy PEARCY officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon.
