Earl BROWNING, 72, died Friday at Ft. Knox Hospital after a lingering illness. Survivors are the wife, the former Miss Montie
CAMPBELL of Dixon; one son, John Richard of Philadelphia PA; two granddaughters; and a brother, Mace Browning of El Paso TX.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Cralle Funeral Home in Louisville, with the Ft. Knox chaplain, Capt. Don R.
TROWBRIDGE, officiating, assisted by Presbyterian minister Arthur HALL. Burial was in Zachary Taylor Cemetery. Mrs. Luke
OSBORN of Corydon; Mrs. Claude BAILEY and son Allen, of Henderson; Mrs. A.B. COLLEY of Owensboro; and Mr. and Mrs.
Cosby CAMPBELL of Dixon attended the funeral. Mr. Browning was a brother-in-law of Mr. Campbell and a frequent visitor in Dixon.

Headley BROWNING, sr., 80, farmer whose home was near Providence, died Monday morning in an Evansville hospital. Mr. Browning was born and reared in this section. He was a son of the late Rice and Susan PALMER Browning. At one time he served as county judge of Webster county. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church. Survivors are the wife, Orbie SIGLER Browning, to whom he was married in 1900; three sons, Kenneth, of Lisman, Prentice, of Providence, and Headley Browning, jr., Detroit Mich.; twelve grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Rose BARNHART, Providence. A daughter, Levi Sue, died several years ago. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Providence Primitive Baptist church, with Elder J.D. SHAIN, of Madisonville, and Elder Gordon HEARON, of Clay, officiating. Burial was in Big Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Ina BRUCE, 72, wife of J.A. Bruce, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home in Dixon following several months' illness. Survivors are the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Ellis WILLIAMS of Sebree rural route, Mrs. Fred POORE, of Sebree, and Mrs. Fletcher HANCOCK of Paducah; three sons, W.C. Bruce, Morris Bruce, Sebree, and Joseph A. Bruce, Miami, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The body is at Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon until time for funeral services which will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the General Baptist Church in Dixon. The Rev. Nealey PEARCY will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon.

Their son Joseph A. Bruce, Jr. (KY Sgt US Marine WWII BSM-PH), 9 Oct 1915-10 Feb 1967, is buried with his parents.
Raymond E. BRUCE, 71, former Providence resident, died suddenly at Cairo, Ill., Wednesday of last week. He was the son of the late James and Ethel NICHOLS Bruce of Providence. Survivors are the wife, Lillie THURMAN Bruce; two sons, James T. Bruce, of East Prairie, Mo., and Dr. Leo Bruce, Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; step-mother, Mrs. Susan Bruce, Mt. Carmel, Ill.; one brother, J.A. Bruce, Dixon; and three half-brothers, George and Ezra Bruce, Providence, and Lige Bruce, Mt. Carmel, Ill. Funeral services were held Sunday in the Methodist church in Cairo with the pastor officiating and burial was in a Cairo cemetery.

Mrs. Lee BRYANT, 82, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the home of a son, Turney Bryant, near Dixon, following an illness of five months. Other survivors are sons, Burley of Sebree and Waverly of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Emmett MARKS of Henderson; a brother, Jesse TODD of Nashville, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Tilden General Baptist Church with the Rev. Oscar DUNCAN of Manitou officiating. Burial will be in Townsend cemetery.

Otha BRYANT, 57, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday at his home near Sebree. Survivors are the wife, Fannie; three brothers, Floyd of Paducah, H.L. of New Albany, Ind., and Edwin of Evansville; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle OAKLEY and Mrs. Iola McCARTHY of Evansville, and Mrs. Alice BROWN of Sebree. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sebree Baptist Church, with the Rev. O.W. LASATER, the pastor, officiating. Burial was in Springfield [sic] cemetery, Sebree.

Neal BUELL, 65, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday at his home in Clay following several weeks' illness. He had spent his entire life in and around Clay. He was a member and deacon of Clay General Baptist Church. Survivors are the wife, Sibbie; a daughter, Mrs. Edith Buell VAUGHN, Clay; a grandson, Ronald Vaughn; a sister, Mrs. T.C. HOPPER, near Providence; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the General Baptist Church in Clay, with the pastor, the Rev. D.A. DUFFER, officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

George Marlin BUIE, 41, former Providence resident, who lived in Hopkins county near Manitou, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Cardwell's Clinic of a heart ailment. Mr. Buie, a miner, was born in Webster county and was a member of Grapevine Baptist church in Hopkins county. Survivors are the wife, the former Miss Lelia BOSTER; three daughters, Mrs. Emery CROWLEY, Madisonville rural route, Ann and Gayle, at home; three sons, Robert, in the army at Ft. Knox, David and Daniel, at home; one grandchild; his mother, Mrs. Linnie Buie, Providence; grandmother, Mrs. Isabel OAKLEY, Evansville; three sisters, Mrs. Jeff WATSON and Mrs. S.C. GROVES, Providence, and Mrs. William KOMPST, Cincinnati, Ohio; and three brothers, Allie Buie, Madisonville, Roy Buie, of Providence, and Frank Buie, of Hebbardsville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Grapevine Baptist church, with the Rev. Rupert UTLEY, of Madisonville, officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Clay.

Ewing BUMPUS, 66, former Webster county resident, died at 4 p.m. Monday in Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Survivors are the wife, Wilie; two daughters, Mrs. Homer ROYSTER and Mrs. Chalmer TEMPLETON, Henderson; two sons, Leon, of Henderson, and Charles, of Lorain, Ohio; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the General Baptist church in Henderson, of which he was a member, with the Rev. O.B. CLARK officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove cemetery near Dixon.

Mrs. Mattie MORRIS BURGESS, 73, former resident of the Providence community and a resident of Kansas City, Mo., since 1906, died Nov. 21 at her home there. Survivors are the husband, Robert L. Burgess; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude PIERCE, Kansas City; a half-brother, O.L. LINK, Slaughters; three half-sisters, Mrs. Burnie DENNIS, Mrs. John CATES, and Miss Kate Link, Dixon; a step-daughter, Mrs. W.L. PERRY, Kansas City; and two step-sons, Charles and Harry Burgess, Stillwell, Kan. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 at Quirk and Tobin Chapel and burial was in Elwood cemetery in Kansas City. Attending the funeral from Kentucky were Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Link, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Link and son, Eddie Ray, Slaughters, and John Cates, Dixon.

James Rayburn BURNS, three-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Burns of Providence, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday. Survivors besides the parents are three sisters, Linda Gayle, Petrona May, and Anna Marie; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ethan CARAWAY, Providence rural route. A brief funeral service was conducted Monday at the grave in Sigler and Cannaday cemetery in Caldwell county by the Rev. SIGLER.

Funeral services for Charles E. BURROUGHS were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Melton Funeral Home with the Rev. R. T. MITCHELL
officiating. Burial was Saturday in Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, IL. Mr. Burroughs, a lumber dealer, became ill while visiting
Tuesday morning in Evansville and was dead on arrival at Deaconess Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a
member of the Christian Church in Fairfield. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret RINARD of Bakersfield CA; and Mrs. Irene
FLANDERS of Bloomington IL; and four sons, Ray of Tampa FL; Carroll, with the U.S. Army in Korea; Roy and Lester of

Mrs. Etta Conger BURTON, 71, wife of W.H. Burton, who formerly lived in Clay and Marion, died Thursday night at her home in Evansville. Mr. and Mrs. Burton moved to Evansville last fall. Besides the husband, Mrs. Burton is survived by two sons, Walter and Eugene, of Evansville; three daughters, Mrs. Bill CAMPER of Batesville, AK; Mrs. David MENIFEE of Atlanta GA; and Mrs. Floyd SANDLEBEN of Evansville; two brothers, Frank CONGER of New York and Charles Conger of Marion; and six grandchildren. The body was taken to Tucker Funeral Home in Marion where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Elbert McCONNELL, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. James Washington (Wash) BURTON, 79, of Henderson died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday of last week at the home of a brother, John Burton, in Sebree. Survivors are one son, Forrest, of Henderson; four brothers, Wiley and John of Sebree, George of Henderson, and Charles of Evansville; two sisters, Mrs. Martha OGLESBY, of Henderson, and Mrs. Idella ODOM, of Sebree. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Mt. Lebanon church near Dixon, with the Rev. W.W. OAKLEY officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Nannie Bett Northcutt Byrd; a son, Harold Byrd of Mobile, AL.;
and a brother, Carl Byrd of Terre Haute IN. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Clay,
with the pastor, the Rev. G.R. ABERNATHY, officiating, assisted by Dr. C.O. SIMPSON. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Clay,

Mrs. Lydia Millie BYRUM, 68, former Providence resident, died Thursday
night in a hospital in Indianapolis, Ind., of injuries sustained on
the preceding Sunday when she was hit by a car. She was the widow of
the late Joseph Q. Byrum. Survivors are two sons, Silas Oscar and
Marion Byrum of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Mrs.
Mary HOKET, Providence; two sisters, Mrs. John BLADES and Mrs. George
WILLIAMS, Earlington; and a brother, Adrian ALLEN, Madisonville.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Valley
church, with the Rev. C. L. BARNES officiating, with burial in the

Noah Benjamin BYRUM, 78, died at 5 a.m. Friday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Mary HOKET, in Providence. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Byrum. Surviving besides Mrs. Hoket are two half-brothers Marion and Oscar Byrum of Indianapolis, Ind. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Melton Fuenral Home, with the Rev. W.W. JOHNSON, pastor of Victory Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley cemetery.
