I am searching for the Moffett family roots.  My gggrandfather was Thomas Moffett, Scott County, TN.  Showed up in the 1880 census at the age of 51 years old, his wife Elizabeth Young and one son.  But can't seem to find where he came from or where he went from there.  County records say he was divorced from Melinda Smithers, but can't find marriage certificate.  I have been searching all states surrounding TN and saw land granted to Moffett's in Mason, Madison and Scott County, Kentucky and was wondering if anyone there can fill in the blanks for me.  I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Trying to find descendants of Opal Walker Carrington.  She was from Scott County and married Amphion Ray Carrington, called "Joe".  They had Jessie Ray and Mary Franklin; Jessie Ray, born and died in 1931. Joe and Jessie are buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, Henry County, Tennessee.  Mary Franklin married Jim Hasslock and lived in Stamping Ground, Kentucky, if that is in Scott County, I don't have anyway of knowing.  This Joe was real good at painting cars.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
