I am
looking for cousins that my be working on the following Riddle family.
Have lots of information on Riddle and Parks from 1830 +, but not much
before. Very willing to share and exchanges. It has been suggested
to me that William Riddle, 1803-1840, may be son or nephew of brothers William
or Moses Riddle of Scott County, Kentucky. These Riddle men married
into the Powell and Breeding families. Also thought to have been Choctaw
or possibly Powhatton Indians in this family. There is a Moses Riddle
in census of Indiana Territory 1807, page 5 in Knox County, Indiana indicates
he was free male 21 years plus. Can anyone help me with: William Riddle,
born March 19, 1803, possibly in KY or VA; died September 13, 1840, Monroe
County, Indiana; buried Parks Cemetery, also know as Armstrong-Bell Cemetery,
Bloomington Twp, Monroe County, Indiana. William Riddle married March
25, 1830, Blooming, Monroe County, Indiana to Polly M. Parks, born August
29, 1808, Burke County, North Carolina; died March 20, 1902, Clear Creek
Twp, Monroe County, Indiana; daughter of William Parks and Jemima Branch.
Polly Parks married (2) John Ridgeway, (3) John E. Anderson in 1853.
Children of William Riddle and Polly M. Parks: William Riddle,
born before 1835, married Nancy M. Anderson (not proven); Priscilla Carolina
Riddle, October 5, 1835, married Andrew B. Anderson; George Marion Riddle,
born February 18, 1839 (Civil War Soldier) married Sarah Whisnand. I
would like to find the place of birth, siblings and parents of William Riddle
1803-1840. Children's census records indicate he may have been born
in VA or KY. There is also the family of George Washington Riddle,
1807-1892, born in Kentucky and wife Margaret Johnson. Suspect that
he may be related to my William Riddle 1803-1840, but have not been able
to like them.

Jacob
Wolf appears on the federal census of Scott County in 1810. Would someone
be kind enough to check and see what year he first appears on the tax list
and the last year he appears. I believe him to be the same Jacob Wolf,
a stonemason, age 97 in the 1850 census of Allen County,
Kentucky.
