The
1850 census list William Riddle, 73, VA; Hannah Riddle, 65, VA with two presumed
offspring; Lavinia, 28 and Anderson, 36. We're speculating that William
and Hannah are the parents of John Riddle, 48 and William Riddle, 44 both
neighboring Owen County and all farmers. The 1850 census shows John
Riddle with 9 children and William Riddle with 8. Cathy Riddle, in
her query of November 1997, tells us of the existence of a brother Moses,
to the older William. I'm wondering if William's wife Hannah was a Powell
or a Breeding, as Cathy's query suggest. My wife, Cathie, tells me
that the lore from the family also alludes to Indian blood. Can anyone
tell us more about the older William and Moses? We would like to trace
William back to Virginia and the old world if
possible.

Am trying
to locate GF's Wesley Dimmitt Osborne's (1882-1950) whereabouts during 1920.
Know that he had wife, Emma and they were in Sadieville, Kentucky in
November 1921. First child Dimmitt W. Osborne was born there. Birth
record says father was a streetcar conductor in Georgetown. He and
wife's address was Sadieville. This was a big surprise to me as I thought
my grandparents had always lived in Cincinnati. Caleb Osborne (1903-1957)
lived there from 1917 on with a man Homer Wilson, Route # Georgetown.
Caleb married a girl named Helen (last name unknown). Caleb had
a twin brother, Carl. Would appreciate any advise or address where
I could obtain a copy of the census for
Sadieville.

I am
searching for James J. Thompson and/or his father George W. Thompson, who
were in Scott County, Kentucky in late 1800's. James and Virginia Belle
Carter Thompson are buried in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Switzer,
Kentucky, along with some of James' siblings. They had a son, Cater
Thompson, who may have operated a fish hatchery in Scott County. My
ggrandmother was Mary Thompson, sister of James, who married J. D. Young,
of Woodford County. If you know anything about these Thompson's of
Scott County, I would appreciate any help.
