BROWN, Thomas

Of Scott County, Kentucky, who was a 1st Lieut in the Company commanded by Capt Hull of the Reg. commanded by
Col Hill in the Virginia Line for 9 months.
Paid at the treasury under the act of 6 April 1838 til date of his death from 4 Sept 1832 to 17 Feb 1833 the date of his death
17 March 1840.
Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of 54 dollars 98 cents per annum to commence on the 4th day of March 1831.

Certificate of Pension issued the 2 day of Nov 1832 and sent to The Hon. R. M. Johnson.

Thomas Brown appeared in Scott County Court on 20th August 1832 to make declaration regarding his pension.  He stated
he was aged 87 years, stated he was a resident of Culpeper County, Virginia in the year he served a militia tour of 3 months.
He entered the service 3 months marched from Culpeper to Goochland Court House.  In 1781 he served a second term of
3 months under Capt. Robt. Pollard & marched to Petersburg and had a small fight with British.  In the same year very soon
after his return he was again called upon to go to the siege of York & to march to meet Cornwallis who was taken at Little
York - thus he had served nine months faithfully.

There is a note in pension regarding the child of Thomas Brown for the rate of 54 dollars, 98 cents til day of his death which is
listed as 17th Feby 1833.

Pension states that Thomas Brown died February 17th

(Note:  Front of pension has a date of 17 Mar 1840 for the survivor?)
