GIBBS, Julius

Julius Gibbs of Scott County in the State of Kentucky who was a private in the company commanded by Capt. Green of the Regt. commanded by Col Christy in the Virginia
Line for 18 months from 1775.
Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of $60 per annum to commence on the 4th day of March 1834.
Certificate of pension issued 5 day of October and sent to Hon. R. M. Johnson, Georgetown, Ken.

Julius Gibbs appears in Scott County Court on the 9th of June 1832, aged 79 years.  He is listed in Cupeper County, VA from Sept 1775 one year in Capt Green's Company
and from September 1777 two months in Captains Ruckers Company and from Jun 1781 two months in Captain Woods Company.

He was married 2 times - 1st to Aggy on Dec. 27, 1799 and had 2 children namely; Betsy born Nov. 13. 1780 and Milley born June 30, 1782.
His second wife was Caty who he married on Dec. 2, 1785.  They had the following children:

Robert F. born Aug. 20, 1794
Churchill J. born Jan. 31, 1797
Samuel C. born Feb. 1, 1800
Judith C. born Sept. 19, 1802


His wife Caty applied later after his death in the State of Missouri and was allowed his pension.

Caty Gibbs appeared in Court 16th Aug 1839, she was aged 79 years, states at time of service they resided in Culpeper County, VA, she states she lost records after his death,
states she married Julius Gibbs on the 2and of December 1785 and that her husband died on the 26th day of July 1834.  Her daughter Charlotte testified that the Bible record was
a true copy of the Bible of her father Julius Gibbs and is in the handwriting of her father, states that her father did die on the date above and that she returned his Certificate of
Pension to the office at Lexington, KY after his death.
