GATEWOOD, John

Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of $20 per annum to commence on the 4th day of March 1834
Certificate of Pension issued 9 of Jan 1833 and sent to Hon R. M. Johnson, H.R.

John Gatewood appeared in Scott County Court on 15th October 1832, aged 67 years, was born September 1, 1765 came to Kentucky in 1781 in Oct - State
he was a citizen of Bryan Station from Oct 1781 til Oct 1782 then he served a term of one month agst the Indians under George Rogers Clark in Captain Robert
Johnson's Company they went to Pickney? & Burnt the Indian towns.  He served a term under Capt. Patterson in June 1782, marched to mouth of Kentucky River
up to Big Bone and finished tour of on month.  He returned to Bryans Station during the year 1781 & 1782 and he served upwards of four months.  He states he
is a citizen of Scott County and removed here in 178??

John Suggett gave affidavit and says he has known him since 1781 when Gatewood came to Kentucky to Bryans Station during the siege in Augt 1782 -
