GARRETT, John

John appeared in Scott County Court on 3rd August 1818?, aged 62 years, says he served from State of Virgina in the spring of 1775 - until the siege
of Little York when Cornwallis was taken and he was honorably discharged - That he was in the Battle of Petersburg and a skirmish near Jamestown -

William Yates stated he was wounded in right leg and he is still disabled - that he served 15 months -

John Garrett made oath in open court regarding pension - he was aged 65 years, a resident of Scott County, Kentucky.  That he entered under Capt.
Pollard in the 4th VA Regt in 1777 or 1778 in Culpeper County, Va, he entered service again - but wounded, at Battle of Petersburg, VA in the right
leg and was taken prisoner and remained for 8 months.  He was discharged by the British at Portsmouth where he was exchanged.  His family
consisted of wife, age 47 years and 2 children Jno.., age abt 15 years and Charlotte, aged 12 years -
