BROWN, Henry

Of Scott County, Kentucky, who served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Scott as a private in the Virginia Line
in 1781 - 1782
Inscribed on the pension roll of Kentucky at the rate of 8 dollars per month to commence on 13 of April 1818.
Certificate of Pension issued the 17 of Nov 1818 and sent to Hon. R. M. Johnson, House of Representatives
Scott County, near GeorgeTown.

Henry Brown appeared in Scott County Court on the 13th of April 1818, he stated he entered service of the
United States in the year 1781 and served as private for term of 18 months, that he was drafted in County of
Spotsylvania, State of Virginia where he resided and that he was honorably discharged by Gen Muhlenberg
at Winchester, Virginia and that before that term he served several Militia tours of two months and that at
this time he is seventy years of age and infirm, that he is poor and needs assistance from his government
and that he resides in Scott County near George Town, Kentucky.

Benj Johnson Circuit Johnson stated it appeared that Henry Brown met requirements for pension for his service.
Henry Brown also appeared in Court on the 7th of June 1820, aged 73 years - he stated he was by occupation a
farmer, but unable to do much labor.  He had five in family viz, himself, a wife, Mary Brown, age 55 years old,
and three children, William, 16 years of age, Betsey 19 years of age, and Nancy 27 years of age.
