Franky Quinn, widow of Benjamin Quinn, who died on the 7th day of July 1823 who was a private in the Virginia Line for 6 months.
Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of 20 Dollars per annum to commence on the 4th day March 1831.
Certificate of Pension issued the 9th day of May 1846 and sent to  Hon. R. M. Johnson
Declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the ___ section of the Act of Congress of the 4th July 1836.  On this day personally appeared before me a justice of the peach in and for the
county aforesaid Franky Quinn a resident of the county of Scott and State of Kentucky aged eighty one years who being first duly sworn according to law doath on her oath make the
following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the Act of Congress passed July 4, 1836.  That she is the widow of Benjamin Quinn who was a soldier of the
revolution on the Virginia line from the county of Culpeper State of Virginia and by reason of old age and ___ of loss of memory she cannot swear positivily as to the precise length of
his service by according to the best of her recollection he served not a less period than two years for such service.  I claim a pension and will detail to the best of my recollection his
service.  He entered the service in or near the commencement of the War of the Revolution and was out on many and various towns as a soldier in the militia all of which I believe he
served until the end of the time for which he entered and that he was honorable discharge but as to his discharge and under whom he served I at this time have no recollection but will
recollect of his  being in the services at various times and of his being at Hillsburg, S Carolina on one occasion and at Fredericksburg, Virginia at another time she positively __ that he
was often in the services and that she encountered much difficulty during his absence from home and that she had to labour with her own hands in making and ___ of their crops and
attend to their children she will recollect of his leaving home in August on a campaign and of her being left with her four little children and having the whole crop to ____ and to struggle
through a very hard and severe winter with her children and of her husband returning in the spring of the year just one week before her daughter Franky was born and of remaining at
home about one month of his being again called in the service.  From the bible record it appears Franky was born the 22and day of March 1781.  From this delicate situation in which
she was and the birth of her daughter as above stated and ____ _____ unable her to fix the time and period of that campaign.  She well knows that he was often in the service ____
before and after the ___ as above but she is unable to specify the number of tours or the length of time that he served on the different campaigns but do well known that he was in the
service at various times more two years and she believes the various campaigns was in the Militia Services as a volunteer and he was never on any pension roll in the ___ state.  She
further declares that she was married to the said Benjamin Quinn in the year seventeen hundred and seventy one and that her husband the aforesaid Benjamin Quinn died on the 7th
day of July Eighteen hundred and T--- three and that she has remained a widow ever since that period as will more fully appear by reference to the proof hereto annexed.

Personally appeared before me a Justice of the peace in and for the county aforesaid, Franky Quinn an aged and respectable lady of this county and subscribed and made oath to the
best of her knowledge and belief and reason of bodily infirmity she is unable to appear in Court and the following is a true copy from her family record.

Franky Vernon now Franky Quinn wife of Benjamin Quinn was borne the last Sunday in May 1756
Sally Quinn daughter of Benjamin and Franky Quinn was born 4th July 1772

Benjamin Quinn, Jr. departed this life on Monday 6th Jan 1823

The records state Benjamin Quinn married Franky Vernon, the daughter of Richard Vernon in 1771 in Culpeper County, Va.  Also stated is that his widow was living in
Scott County, Ky in May 1837.  In 1845 Susanna signed Susan Branham states she was the 14th child of Benjamin & Franky Quinn.
Listed children were:  Sally born July 4, 1772, William born April 17, 1774, Elizabeth born Nov. 2, 1776, Milly born Dec. 18, 1778, Franky born Mar 22, 1781, John born Jan 10, 1785,
and died Aug 3, 1823, Richard born Aug 8, 1787, Nancy born Feb 22, 1790, Benjamin born June 9, 1792 and died Jan 6, 1823, James born Dec 20, 1794 and died Mar 18, 1823,
Anne born Jan 24, 1797, Willis born May 27, 1799 and died Jan 8, 1823 and Susanna born Sept 19, 1803.

(Note by compiler - Susan appears to be the wife of John Branham, age 63 in the 1860 Census for Scott County, Ky, Susan is age 57 in this census)
