Of Scott County who was a Private in the Regiment Commanded by Colonel Washington of the Virginia line for the term of 2 years
subscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of 8 dollars per month to commence on the 22and day of April 1818.
Certificate of Pension issued the 13 of Feby 1819 and sent to Hon R. M. Johnson.

Charles Neal appeared in Scott County Court stated he was in service about 1779 or 1789, was at the Battle of Cowpens of Camden
of Guilford Courthouse and the Eaten Springs, that he was honorably discharged at Nelsons Ferry the 12th of June 1782 or 1783, that
he was now 55 years of age.

Charles again appeared in Scott County Court on 7th Aug 1820 aged 58 years, speaks of wife Anny Neal, age 52, children, Betsey
age 20, Anney age 18, William A. age 16 and Lucy age 14.  He states he is a farmer.
8th October 1838 - Ann Neal, widow of Charles appeared in Switzerland County, Indiana in open court regarding pension of her late
husband.  She states her husband lived in Madison County, KY and from there moved to Scott County, KY and from there to
Switzerland County, Indiana.  She states she was married to Neal in August in the year seventeen hundred and eight four or five
in Orange County, State of Virginia.  That her husband Charles Neal died in August eighteen hundred and thirty one.
The pension record states the maiden name for Ann Neal as Ann Miller and she died on July 30, 1854
