children in Mrs. Bernice Fendley's 3rd grade LaGrange Elemenary
class as best as I can remember them - Roger Mattingly:

(Beginning at the left side of the photo against the wall):
Kathy Crowder (I think
her mother was Louise Mings. She was learning clarinet in band.),
Unknown, Deanna Jones (Had her appendix removed and brought it to
class in a jar), Johnny Talbott, Ellen Morris.
2nd row:
Ricky Rankin (Was very
good in mathematics. He and I went out selling flower seeds
together.), Unknown, Georgeanna Taylor, Trudy Byers?, Eddie Nay
(Died of a heart attack a few years ago.)
3rd row:
Nancy Fisher (She was
quiet, but loved to read!), Byron Bell (Spent a school year
telling people his name was Byron, not Bryan.), A. D. Woosley (A
friend of mine. He had the bat, I was catcher. He accidentally hit
me in the eye and I had a "shiner" for a couple of
weeks.), Roger Gale Mattingly (That's me!), Phillip Gilpin.
4th row:
Phyllis Manley, Kathleen
Applegate (Her mother was a school teacher.), Beverly Hardin?,
Barbara Ritchie, Bill Petitt.
5th row:
Robert Carpenter,
Unknown, Unknown, Unknown, Wanda Birchfield?

I can add a few names. I believe behind Kathy
Crowder is possibly Dianne Lindell. That is Alona Bowman behind
Georgeanna
Taylor. Trudy was in other class pictures but
not this one. Behind Robert Carpenter is Judy Dillingham, and
Wanda Truman. What a blast from the past. I take it Roger
Mattingly posted this. My pictures are a little tattered, maybe
I could get some copies. We were also in Mrs. Horton's 5th grade
class. Also, the kid behind Wanda Truman is Richard --------,
and in front of Bill Pettit is Judy possibly Clark.
