Other family members in New Highland  Baptist Cemetery include James Seaton Cox. (His marker in 1985 was broken and laying on the ground).  Lucy Cox Mills and Maggie Lee Galloway.  Sisters to James Pike Cox of OKC, OK.

My name is Janet Cox.

My grandfather, James Pike Cox, was born in Brandenburg, Ky in 1885.  His parents were James Golden Cox (Meade Co), and Carrie J. (Wilcoxen) Cox of Payson, IL.  James Golden Cox was the son of James Seaton Cox and Sarah Phillips also of Meade Co., Kentucky.  James Seaton Cox was the son of John Douglas Luckett Cox and Lucy B. Seaton, all of Brandenburg.  John Douglas Luckett Cox was killed by lightening, along with another slave in 1847.   I have attached a photograph of Carrie J. Wilcoxen.  My grandfather, James Pike Cox left Brandenburg when he was sixteen years old and traveled to Oklahoma City, OK.  He was  one of the first conductors on the Metropolitan Railway in 1901.   I have also attached a copy of the headstone of James G. and Carrie J. Cox in the New Highland Baptist Church near Brandenburg, KY.  Thank you.
