Here is the info on the tombstones. They are on the Old Boon farm that was owned by Harm C Boon Jr. It is on Little Ben Road in Meade Co. Ky.

This is my GG grandfather and grandmother.
This is not a public cemetery, just the two graves. The above were living with Harm C. Boon Jr. when they died. Boon had married there daughter Mary (Moley) Park. I am told by the people that now own the farm that it was once part of the Harm C. Boon Sr. farm ...

Transcriber's Notes
Jonathan Grable was a son of Peter and Elizabeth (Grable) Benham. His first wife was Josephine Elizabeth Coleman, believed to be buried in Coleman cemetery. Elizabeth was his second wife. The Benham cemetery is a few hundred feet from where the old Benham home place stood. Jonathan first purchased land in Meade County in 1859. He purchased the land from his brother William N. Benham that he inherited from his mother. By the late 1800’s he had purchased over 500 acres of land in the Rockridge area. My great grandfather was Augustus Board (Gus) Benham. Grandmother Mary Magdalene Benham.

Transcriber Notes
The Johnson cemetery is located on land that was owned by John Johnson in the 1800’s. He came to Kentucky from Virginia in the early 1800’s. He bought hundreds of acres of land along Doe Run Creek and built a textile mill, five stories high with walls of stone. I never found the graves of him or his wife 35 years ago, and there was fewer stones two years ago. The Pack baby was my aunt, Edna Givans my great aunt, Margaret C. Benham my great grandmother, James W. & Mary Ann Fowler my great great grandparents.

This cemetery is located off Hwy. 1638 on Hwy. 933 on the Fenwick property. Follow the driveway of Donald Fenwick, it will take you straight back to the cemetery.

This cemetery is located in a wooded area on Grant Lane, off Hwy. 1638 near the old Doe Valley Foodland market.

I‘ve always remembered this cemetery being in a wooded area. Years ago loggers cut trees in this area and broke some stones. After that I copied the names and dates of the stones that were left. Shrewsburys were one of the older families of Meade County. Nathan & Millie Shrewsbury are the great great great grandparents of my sons. Other family links are Coleman, Rush, Lawson, Faith, Board, Bewley, Johnson, Benham & Powell.

This cemetery is located Ekron, KY. Direction to the cemetery from Buck Grove Road. Take Mobley Rd. to the second Eagles Nest Rd. turn left, go 2/10 of a mile to 660 ( Grubbs on mail box ) turn right and with permission of Jim or Joyce Grubbs the cemetery is straight back the driveway into the woods to the right.

The " Old Powell Burial Ground" is located on land that John and Nancy Mason Powell settled on in the early 1800’s. The ground was owned by Steven W. Berry in 1923 when he donated one acre to the cemetery Oct. 6, 1923. Steven was married to Ida B. Brunton. I went by the cemetery Sun. Apr. 29, 2001 to check a couple of dates. Some more of the gravestones have fallen over and broke. Some were broke in 1988 when I first transcribed the cemetery. There are several rocks that have been used for markers. I’ve added the ones that are buried without stones that I was told of by family members. John Powell and Nancy Mason were my g g g grandparents. William Powell and Ann Green my g g grandparents.

The farm was near the Blue Spring Branch along Doe Run Creek. The cemetery is located on what was the farm owned by James S. Thomas in the early 1800’s. The farm has had several owners over the years and was finally sold in plots. The cemetery has been covered with trees, brush and vines for years. Since 1984 some of the stones have fell off the base and some are broke. There was 10-15 large limestone rocks that marked other graves. Jinsey Strader Thomas, 1st wife of James is believed to be buried there. James S. and Rebecca Seeley Thomas are my great great grandparents.
