Ray Ellen Kearns Taylor, 67, of Lancaster Road, Richmond, passed away Tuesday,
Sept. 7, 2004, at her home after a long illness. She was born on May 23, 1937,
to the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Zelpha Ellen Denham) Kearns. She was a member
of the Doylesville United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth W. Taylor; a son, Ramey C.
(Elrena) Taylor; and granddaughter, Hannah Sky Taylor, all of Madison County; a
sister, Jackie (Robert) Whalen of Mississippi; four brothers, Bert F. (Bonnie)
Kearns of Indiana, Garnett Kearns of Richmond, Bernie (Mary Lou) Kearns of
Somerset and Randy (Danielle) Kearns of Georgetown, along with several nieces
and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Bachman, Billy Wall, the Rev. J.E. Walters, Prestley
Garrett, Bert F. Kearns and Bernie Kearns. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert
Whalen, Wadis Taylor, Iva Krumdeck, Mary Weitkamp, Joyce Wall, Sue Garrett,
Tonya Hatton, Ann and Don Richardson.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the
Turpin Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Ray and Pastor Allene Coon officiating.
Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8
p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at the Turpin Funeral Home.
