Alene Shelby Perkins, 80, formally of Harlan, Kentucky passed away Monday December 29, 2003 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alene was preceded in death by her father Charlie Shelby of Harlan and her mother Nell Shelby also of Harlan. She was also preceded in death by her brother Roy Shelby of Middlesboro, Kentucky and a Sister Anna L. Ballou. She is survived by her Husband Lawrence “Perk” Perkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, a Son Larry (Kathleen) Perkins of Union, KY two grandsons Danny (Meegan) Perkins and Timmy (Cammy) Perkins, one granddaughter Jenny (Ernie) Liggett. 5 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter

Brother Charles (Ernestine) Shelby of Richmond, KY .Graveside services will be conducted Saturday January 3, 2003 at Noon at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Harlan, Kentucky with Reverend Rick Shelby officiating. There will be no visitation. Turpin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
