H. Martin, 80, retired counselor for Beaumont Middle School and husband of Patsy
Thomas Martin, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004. A Navy veteran of WW II, he received
his Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Kentucky.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by a daughter, Kay (John)
Osborne; a sister, Mildred K. Rieker, Richmond; two grandchildren, Carol (James
T.) O’Connell, Frankfort and John Martin (Jennifer) Osborne, Virginia; two great
grandchildren, Kennedy Marie O’Connell and Ryan Neil Osborne; and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Franklin
Martin, Lawrence Omer Martin and Carl Edward Martin. Services will be 11 AM
Thursday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, conducted by Dr. Charles Queen.
Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County. Casket
bearers will be Bill Rieker, Tom Martin, Charles Martin, Jeff Nugen, J.T.
O’Connell and Jimmy Martin. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday. Memorials may
be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504.
