Jasper Francis Kirby

Jasper Francis Kirby, 83, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Sycamore Hospital.

Mr. Kirby was born in Berea, [Madison County], Ky., on July 15, 1920, the son of James and Lucy (Hopkins) Kirby. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Kirby was employed by GM Delco Products as a job setter for 30 years, retiring in 1974. Jasper was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Franklin for 20 years and loved to fish and hunt.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Larry Kirby in 2000, and a brother, James Kirby.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Ellis) Kirby; two daughters, Ginger McCabe, and her husband, Rusty, of Franklin, and Linda Bailey of Elberton, Ga.; and six grandchildren, Holly McCabe, Sunshine Brooks, Beau Bailey, Chad Monnin, Jason Kirby and Dino Kirby. Also surviving him are two stepsons, John Kolb, and his wife, Pamela, of Dayton and Thomas Kolb of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Katherine Kirby of Carlisle and Marie Darner of Dayton; two step-grandchildren, Lauren and Austin Charles Kolb; and five great grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. Diann O’Bryant officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
