EVANS, Pleas

Pleas Evans, 93, of Miamisburg, died at his residence Saturday, March 6, 2004.

He was born in Madison County, Ky., on June 22, 1911, the son of Nathan and Martha (Smith) Evans.

He was a resident of Turner Lane in Franklin for more than 50 years. He was employed by the Maxwell Paper Co. for 23 years and retired in 1971.

Preceding him in death were his parents; children Delores and Vicky Evans, Myrtle Franks, Edward Evans and Helen Centers; five brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are his wife of 74 years, Susie (Hisle) Evans; son Elmer Evans and wife Betty of Franklin; daughters Addie Broughton of Hamilton, Ada Brewer and husband Thomas of Franklin, Dianna Elliott and husband Gary of Carlisle; sister Aretha Hisle of Kentucky; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home, Franklin, with The Rev. Phil Moon officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Immediately following the graveside service, the family will be meeting at Franklin First Church of God on River Street in the church basement.
