Ernest Curry

Ernest Baxter Curry, age 72, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003, at his daughters home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was a longtime resident of Hamilton who was born August 14, 1930, in Red House, Madison County, Kentucky, to the late Sanford Oldham and Anna Langford (Garrison) Curry. Ernie was educated in the Butler County school system attended Trenton High School and was graduated from Germantown High in 1948. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1952. Ernie was a production engineer, primarily for the aircraft industry. He also considered himself a toymaker. After “retirement” he produced beautiful reproductions pieces and spent many happy hours at the flea market.

His loss is mourned by daughter, Lillian A. Curry; granddaughter, Erin M. Tieman; and great-granddaughter, Jordan M. Tieman with whom he spent his last months. His loss is deeply felt by his brothers, Fred D. of Miamisburg, Harold D. of Lewisburg, Neval R. of Middletown and two sisters, Ella Fay Houston, of Midland and Lottie C. Hapner of Brooksville, Florida; and twenty-five nieces and nephews and their descendents.

He was married to the late Mary Lenora Torch from 1952 to 1969 with whom he had four children; and to Fay Coffman from 1976 to 1982. His family includes his children, Ernest B. and David B. of St. Petersburg, Florida, Lenora Salmons of West Grove, Pennsylvania their five children and their two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, E.B. was preceded in death by his eldest brother, John R. Curry of Dayton.

Funeral service Wednesday, 1 p.m. July 2, 2003, at Brough-Getts Funeral Home, 102 S. Second Street, Miamisburg, Ohio. Visitation 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio.
