Lorene Brown

BROWN, Lorene, 74, of Lexington, died Sun., Sept. 19, 2004 at the Hospice Care Center. Born in Madison County she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Nora B. Davis Prather. She worked in Food Service at the University of Kentucky and was a member of Blue Grass Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Porter (Candi) Brown; five daughters, Linda (Jesse) Rayburn, Betty (James) Loman, Doris Griffith, Dona Jones, and Alice (Phillip) Dotson; one sister, Ruth Devere; six brothers, Stanley, Chester, Nathan, Billy Joe, Ray, and Clyde Prather; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Elizabeth Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Porter Brown; son, Orvis Lee Brown; four sisters, Lillian, Agnes, Jane, and Frances; and two brothers, Mason, and Burnam. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street. Visitation will be 5 - 9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
