Helen VanWinkle Bowlin, age 76, of Rt. 6, Mt. Vernon, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at her residence following an illness. She was a Madison County native born Jan. 15, 1928, daughter of the late Lewis and Laura Bicknell VanWinkle and had live in the Berea area all her life. She was a homemaker and member of Liberty Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Sharon (Rick) Turner of Waco, Charlotte (Charles) Bowles of Mt. Vernon; 1 son, Marvin (Lana) Bowlin of Mt. Vernon; 7 grandchildren, 7 great granchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Bowlin, Jr., 1 son, Kenneth Bowlin, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral service 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Whittemore officiating. Burial will follow in Wallaceton Cemetery. Visitation 6 - 9 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shane Johnson, Charles Bowles, Rick Turner, Jay Parks, Sam Howard, James Richards.
